Title: Hoelting Brothers' Barbecue Sauce

2 1/2cWater
18ozTomato paste
12ozMolasses
1 1/2cDark corn syrup
3/4cWhite vinegar
3/4cHoney
2tbPaprika
2tbWhiskey
2tbWorcestershire sauce
1tbLiquid smoke
1tbHot pepper sauce
1tsGarlic powder
1tsChili powder
1tsOnion powder
1tsGround red pepper; or to tas
2 Bay leaves

In a 4-quart dutch oven, combine all ingredients. If necessary, use a wire whisk to mix well. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, over medium-low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaves. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Makes 8 cups. Penny Halsey (ATBN65b).
